A six-hour excursion deep in the jungle of Tarrazú searching for venomous snakes and poisonous bugs may not be one’s dream vacation; but for Corinne Carr, that is her idea of paradise.

Let’s rewind: From an early age, Corinne developed a strong curiosity and love for animals. She along with her siblings, Charleen and Charles, would often bring home strays and care for them. Growing up she especially loved water turtles and aquatic animals. She had three turtles and a small aquarium that housed fish, snails and crabs.

Fast Forward: She currently has twenty snakes (yes, I said 20), one savanah monitor Lizard, one tortoise, one leopard gecko and two dogs. Corinne shares her love of animals with her beautiful daughters, Avery and Iyla (who often assist at the larger Reptile Retreats presentations).

Corinne’s love of traveling to exotic places allows her to connect with species in their natural environment. It has sparked her desire to travel more, and create amazing environments for animals.

One of her favorite finds on that Costa Rica excursion was a fir-de-Lance viper, along with a Basilisk lizard, also known as the Jesus lizard. Corinne is currently planning her next trips to Brazil and Australia and cannot wait to share her adventure!
